Almost into double digits! Here is my analog letter of the week. It goes out to my friend Michelle Williams. No, not the actress, the incredibly talented Portland-based poet. Her collection of poems, Good Work for Small Hands, is sweet, lovely and thoughtful. It sets a scene in childhood that I didn’t experience, but somehow I feel it. She is most certainly a sensitive soul.
We haven’t been in contact for over a year.
Nothing to do with her at all—I thought of her and missed her the entire time. Really just my stuff. My challenges with her husband, who I performed in a band with for many years, led me to take a break from him and, by proxy, her.
I recently met up with her husband for tea and had a really good, healing conversation. Now it’s time for me to reconnect with her if she’s open to that. I hope so. I continue to miss her.

Hugs!
PS I forwarded an email to you about an artist award that a local foundation is promoting. You SO should get that award! :) xoxo
Praying with you, Mel, for the healing and continuing of this relationship that is precious to you. May it be so!
