THIS!! "Make a choice and just do that thing. If it doesn't work out, you can always make another choice."

You've certainly lived an interesting life so far, Mel! I resonate with each decade having been better than the last. Speaking of which, Matisse started making his paper cutout artworks quite late in life when he could no longer wield a paintbrush -- and to my personal taste, those works are the most appealing ones he ever did. He turned limitation into inspiration. I have a poster print of one of his cutouts on my wall, and in fact it's the only work by a "famous artist" that I have in my house.

That is awesome, Tim! And yes, I totally agree–his paper cut outs are his best work. I hope I do the same thing and just continue creating forever and dealing with whatever limitations come up with creativity and ingenuity!

Mel, I believe Midwest families have a similar value as southern families. Always offering a meal and a place to stay…and fish with generosity and decorum, and then talk about you behind your back after you leave.

I love these love notes, and I’m curious as to how writing them has impacted your life overall.

I also think this could be part of your teaching/coaching online program. I’d sign up for a six week class where we do these analog letters together.

That is so interesting, TeriLeigh! Alex said the same thing about offering an Analog Letter workshop-y thing. And to your other point, it has most certainly affected me in a positive way. It’s definitely upped my gratitude game!

this is an example of nudging you more into your power. since both of us have suggested this, its something to explore more seriously. perhaps run a short one as a beta test to figure out how to make it a bi-annual offering. You have so many courses/classes in you...and you are a natural teacher.

you asked me when you first interviewed for Creator Retreat how to integrate all your playful creativities into one Substack. I think this is it. offering workshops and shorter-term courses like this!
